Location: The Studios, Las Colinas, Irving TX Date: 5th November 1983 Taper: Unconfirmed (Likely Jim Yukich) Video Quality: B/B+ Audio Quality: B+/A- Recording of the first half of the Mama tour's setlist from a rehearsal tape. The location and person behind the camera are not confirmed, but the location is likely Dallas, TX, and the person filming is likely Jim Yukich, the man behind several of the Genesis and Phil Collins music videos. The footage interesting for several reasons: it shows the first half of the early version of the setlist that only last for a few days of the tour before being dropped, with Dodo/Lurker segueing into The Carpet Crawlers and Abacab being placed later instead and the Old Medley being the very rare Eleventh Earl of Mar (first two verses) / Ripples / Squonk / Firth of Fifth, before being reduced to Eleventh Earl (opening) / Squonk / Firth of Fifth a few days into the tour. The audio and video are fair quality, while being commendable for being incredibly stable and not moving around much, also suffers from being a bit too overblown (note how the band member's features disappear in the white light), and the audio is quite good but a bit boomy in places. I cleaned up the audio a little bit and balanced the audio as it was louder in the right channel than the left. NOTE: At the time I used AI scaling with the hopes of improving video quality, but since then I've grown to dislike the quality loss and smeary nature of the upscale, along with the ethical + power concerns of the format. I'm leaving this up for posterity but might reupload with a better un-AI'ed version in the future. 00:00 Dodo/Lurker 07:09 The Carpet Crawlers 12:50 Phil Talking 14:07 That's All 18:58 Mama 26:35 Band Talking / Tuning Up 27:49 Illegal Alien 33:25 Band Talking / Tuning Up 34:41 Old Medley: Eleventh Earl of Mar 38:00 Old Medley: Ripples 40:56 Old Medley: Squonk 43:50 Old Medley: Firth of Fifth 50:12 Man On The Corner 54:27 Whodunnit?
