Jimmy Witherspoon - Whose Hat Is That | Robben Ford guitar solo cover

Another of Robben Ford's performances on 'Live at the Mint' with Jimmy Witherspoon, "Whose Hat Is That" (later flowing seamlessly into "CC Rider" as part of a medley), features a guitar solo by Robben Ford that completely blew me away the first time I heard it. I simply couldn't believe that such a sophisticated, imaginative, and exploratory solo so full of ideas could be built over the simple structures of a blues. That solo left such a deep impression on me that I even seem to remember dreaming one night that I was playing it live myself. Nearly thirty years later, I finally dared to transcribe and record my own performance of it (a process that turned out to be a highly rewarding musical experience).
