Big Boy Henry Cherry Red 1980
Big Boy Henry's performance on his Carolina blues classic"Cherry Red", subtitled {I Don't Need No Heater} as presented here is also featured on audiomez upload http://youtu.be/N0wTUHDn3kk which includes a bonus version of a superb live performance of "Cherry Red" recorded sometime in the late 1980s, at an unknown venue (and possibly featuring the use of a guitar side man). "Cherry Red" along with his equally strong performance of his never before available "Mail Man" (also featured as an upload) are unquestionably among the finest recordings of this Beaufort North Carolina Blues Veteran during that period. "Cherry Red" and " Mail Man" were both recorded during the same session in June1980.several years later selected for use as the "B" side for Big Boy's 1982/83 novelty blues single "Mr. President" (Audio Arts AAS-007).
