Buddy Guy's Legends has become as celebrated as its namesake for providing Chicago with the highest quality blues talent to be seen anywhere. From the Monday jam sessions to the constant flow of world-class talent weekends, Legends is a required stop for soul-stirring blues and barbeque. Chicago Blues Jam brings you a slice of this legendary stage, with interviews and commentary by Buzz Kilman. Featuring: James Harman First played professionally in Panama City, FL at the age of 16. After cutting his first record he lived in Chicago, New York, Miama and New Orleans. Unhappy in all these cities, he moved to Southern California, where his unique sound was welcomed by peers like Rod Piazza and Brother Chaos. With over 40 years of touring and recording, Harman has always remained true to his credo: strictly the blues. Howard & The White Boys A young band that started jamming together in 1988, Howard & The White Boys has enjoyed substantial success through regular appearances at Legends, as well as being the opening band for Buddy Guy on tour. Enjoy this rare early footage of them performing at Legends.
James Gary Harman (June 8, 1946 – May 23, 2021) was an American blues harmonica player, singer, and songwriter. The music journalist Tony Russell described Harman as an "amusing songwriter and an excellent, unfussy blues harp player".
