Scholar, transcriber, publisher, entrepreneur, saxophonist, oboist, bassist, composer, conductor, musicologist and the world's leading authority on the music of John Coltrane, Andrew White boasts a comprehensive catalog of over 2500 self-produced titles through his publishing company, Andrew's Music, established September 23, 1971. His many accomplishments include awards, honors, 400 original compositions, over 48 sound recordings, more than 32 original books, treatises, and other diverse products, including sheet music, and an 840 page autobiography, "Everybody Loves the Sugar" that is the largest self-produced autobiography in the history of music. I caught him at a lecture he gave at the University of the District of Columbia on the 38th anniversary of the establishment of his publishing company, September 23, 2009.

About John Coltrane

John William Coltrane (September 23, 1926 – July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist, bandleader, and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. Born and raised in North Carolina, Coltrane moved to Philadelphia after high school, where he immersed himself in the local jazz scene, studied music, and served in the Navy toward the end of World War II before making his professional debut in 1945.
