He was born on April 19, 1928, in Paris, France, to an Austrian Jewish father and a Greek mother. Korner moved to London in the early 1940s and became interested in jazz and blues music. In the 1950s, he formed the band Blues Incorporated, which included future Rolling Stones members Charlie Watts and Jack Bruce.
