"Jimmy Shaker Day" — Oleander | Shrinking the Blob (1997) The sixth track from Shrinking the Blob — and the only song from this independent debut to resurface on Oleander's second major label album rather than their first. While most Shrinking the Blob tracks were re-recorded for February Son (1999), "Jimmy Shaker Day" waited until Unwind (2001) for its major label re-recording — and later appeared in the 2002 blockbuster Spider-Man directed by Sam Raimi, playing during the scene where Peter Parker wins his wrestling match against Bonesaw McGraw. This is the original 1997 independent version — rawer and more direct than either of its later incarnations — and a key piece of the complete Oleander story for any serious fan of the catalog. From Shrinking the Blob — released independently on Fine Records in 1997, recorded at Mousehouse Studios in Pasadena by producer Rich Mouser — alongside "Down When I'm Loaded" and early versions of "Why I'm Here," "Stupid," and "You'll Find Out."
