17 year old Dirk Jan Vennik live @ Amsterdam Blues Festival, Meervaart - Barrelhousin'
Dedicated to Albert Ammons. The festival was booked and hosted by Martin Van Olderen Bluespromoter from Amsterdam. This was the 1996 edition, also featuring Son Seals a.o. I went to the blues festivals in De Meervaart a lot and saw Bob Margolin, Sam Lay, Byther Smith, Eddy Clearwater, Willie Kent a.o. Backstage, I met Little Willie Littlefield, Clearwater and Smith. At the 1996 Chicago Blues Festival at the same venue, I played during the breaks and Little Mack Simmons, with his harmonica, joined me for some songs; great memories!
