" Many thanks and a spotlight of appreciation goes to Boyfromxtown for getting this released on the latest "Cellarful Of Motown" CD (Volume 5). This is the instrumental track titled "It's All Over," earmarked for The Isley Brothers. With all that has been written in past years about how Motown went looking for material after HDH suddenly left the company, I find it astonishing that something this good went un-used and ignored. Or was the feeling that the sound wasn't current enough by the time HDH had left? At any rate, this is quite a remarkable construction and production. The liner notes in the CD set note that the songwriters were busy producing so much music at this point; that this may have been a case where there just wasn't enough time to write lyrics for this one. Fans of HDH have noted how the guys often employed unusual chord progressions and "It's All Over" certainly is a fairly progressive example of that. Enjoy. Song: "It's All Over" Band track scheduled for The Isley Brothers Produced by Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier Recorded 30 August 1966 Strings added 15 September 1966 Cellarful of Motown Volume 5" #motown #oldies #thefunkbrothers #funkbrothers
