Recording at Motown’s Studio A started Wednesday, May 5, 1965. Songwriters: William “Smokey” Robinson, Warren “Pete” Moore. The song was a top 20 pop single on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and it peaked at number 17. On Billboard's R&B singles chart, "Since I Lost My Baby" peaked at number 4. Personnel: Lead vocals by David Ruffin Background vocals by Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, and Otis Williams. Instrumentation is by The Funk Brothers and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. This is a digitally extracted stereo version of mono recording.

About The Funk Brothers

The Funk Brothers were a group of Detroit-based session musicians who performed the backing to most Motown recordings from 1959 until the company moved to Los Angeles in 1972.
