She is the first woman to record the ‘Chhaprahiya Purvi’ folk form of Purvanchal i.e. a particular region of Bihar and Uttar-Pradesh in 2004. Prior to her work Chhaprahiya Purvi was a male preserve which requires a high octave gigantic vocal range.
