"Get Rhythm" is a rockabilly song, written and recorded in April, 1956 by Johnny Cash. The song is about optimism, centering on a shoeshine boy who "gets rhythm" (spends part of his pay at a jukebox, to hear music) to cope with the tedious nature of his job. It was Cash's first number one single on the country charts. "Get Rhythm" was released in 1956 and went to Number One on the U.S. country charts. In 1969, Cash re-released the song with applause dubbed in; this version went to #29 on the charts.
