Originally recorded by Eric Idle & Neil Innes for the BBC television programme "Rutland Weekend Television", and later included on "The Rutland Weekend Television Songbook" 1976 soundtrack LP (UK BBC REB 223 / US Passport PPSD 98108). Fairport Convention performed "The Accountancy Shanty" live at their concert at City Hall, Hull, England on 12 February 1989. it was included on their four-disc compilation "Fairport unConventional" (Free Reed FRQCD 35) issued on May 2002.
