GIVE ME YOUR NUMBER, The King Bees, (Rare) (Flip #323) 1957 Flipside: PUPPY LOVE – Here is one of my favorite ballads from my record collection. We were not able to find out any information about this King Bees vocal group. There was another King Bees vocal group that hailed from Washington, D.C. My dear and close friend, the late Lloyd Price, discovered them and had them record “LOVELY LOVE/CAN’T YOU UNDERSTAND” (KRC #302) 1957. KRC Records was founded and owned by Lloyd Price, Harold Logan and Bill Boskent. The KRC label only lasted a couple of years with 6 releases, but Lloyd maintained the high musical standard that he had previously set during his four years of recording for Specialty Records. This upload of “GIVE ME YOUR NUMBER” is by The King Bees group that recorded for Flip Records, a well-known West Coast label which most probably tells us, they’re from the West Coast! 24 years ago “GIVE ME YOUR NUMBER” was worth $300.00! Collectors beware, it has been booted/reissued. Enjoy this really great unknown ballad “GIVE ME YOUR NUMBER” by The King Bees. This is West Coast Doowop at its finest!

About Lloyd Price

Lloyd Price was an American R&B and rock and roll singer known as "Mr. Personality" after his 1959 million-selling hit, "Personality". His first recording, "Lawdy Miss Clawdy", was a hit for Specialty Records in 1952. He continued to release records, but none were as popular until several years later, when he refined the New Orleans beat and achieved a series of national hits. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
