"Runaway Train" — Oleander | Runaway Train EP (2002) The title track from the Runaway Train EP — Oleander's first release on Sanctuary Records, released November 19, 2002. Written by Thomas Flowers as a personal reflection on his previous marriage, "Runaway Train" was featured in the 2002 Showtime film Bang Bang You're Dead — a provocative drama starring Ben Foster about a troubled high school student navigating bullying and violence — with a music video shot incorporating footage directly from the film. This EP version predates the studio recording that later appeared on Joyride (2003), offering fans a chance to hear the song in its earliest released form — raw and direct, captured during a pivotal transition period as Oleander moved from Universal Records to Sanctuary and prepared to return to their hard rock roots. From the Runaway Train EP — also featuring an acoustic version of "Rainy Day," the previously unreleased track "Parade," and a demo version of "Runaway Train."
