About This Footage

Queenadreena's "Where Me And The Vultures Live" is a 2000 live clip that offers a glimpse into the band's intense and abrasive sound during its prime. Formed in London in 1998 by vocalist KatieJane Garside and guitarist Crispin Gray, Queenadreena was a product of the city's thriving alternative rock scene.

At this point in their career, Queenadreena had already gained notoriety for their noise-rock influenced sound, which blended elements of blues rock and other genres. The band's music was characterized by its raw energy and abrasive songwriting, earning them a reputation as one of the most exciting new acts to emerge from London.

This live clip is notable because it captures Queenadreena's performance at a pivotal moment in their career. In 2000, the band had already released several singles and EPs, but they were still building momentum towards their debut album. The "Where Me And The Vultures Live" clip showcases the band's ability to deliver high-energy performances that were equal parts chaotic and mesmerizing.

What makes this footage rare is its raw, unpolished quality. Unlike many live clips from the time, which were often heavily produced and edited for television, "Where Me And The Vultures Live" appears to be a genuine, unadulterated representation of Queenadreena's live show. The video's rough, DIY aesthetic is reflective of the band's anti-glamour approach to music-making.

Watching this clip, viewers will get a sense of the band's frenetic energy and KatieJane Garside's powerful vocals. Crispin Gray's guitar work is also on full display, with his distorted riffs and feedback-driven solos adding to the overall intensity of the performance. The "Where Me And The Vultures Live" clip is a must-see for fans of noise-rock and alternative music from the early 2000s.

It's worth noting that Queenadreena's music was also notable for its eclecticism, incorporating elements of blues rock, psychedelia, and even folk into their sound. This eclectic approach helped set them apart from other bands in the UK's thriving indie scene at the time. The "Where Me And The Vultures Live" clip is a testament to Queenadreena's innovative spirit and commitment to pushing the boundaries of what was possible within the alternative rock genre.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in reevaluating the music of the 1990s and early 2000s. Bands like Queenadreena, who were once overlooked or underappreciated, are now being rediscovered by new generations of fans. The "Where Me And The Vultures Live" clip is a significant piece of this puzzle, offering a glimpse into the band's raw, unbridled energy and creative potential.

Ultimately, watching Queenadreena's "Where Me And The Vultures Live" is an immersive experience that will leave viewers breathless. With its intense performance, raw energy, and DIY aesthetic, this clip is a must-see for anyone interested in the early 2000s alternative rock scene.
