Joan Armatrading's song "Read It Write", B-side of the "Love By You" single, recorded here from a mint copy of the 10" UK vinyl release AMY 269. I was a bit disappointed when I bought this single in 1985, as I was hoping for some really good sound quality... instead both sides had quite a lot of snap, crackle and pop even when new. This copy has been played 3 times. However, it's a good song and sits nicely alongside the "Secret Secrets" album of the same year. Recorded direct to computer (no editing or noise reduction). Joan Anita Barbara Armatrading is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her first major commercial success came with her third and fourth albums, Joan Armatrading (1976) and Show Some Emotion (1977), and she continues to play live and record studio albums. A three-time Grammy Award nominee, Armatrading has also been nominated twice for BRIT Awards as Best Female Artist. She received an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contemporary Song Collection in 1996.
