This song was written by Bill Danoff and was first released on John Denver's album "Aerie" in 1972. This wonderful rendition was performed by Josh White Jr, son of the great blues guitarist Josh White. His guitar style is heavily influenced by his father. At first glance, it may seem unusual that this 1989 performance by Josh White Jr. has garnered attention for its rendition of a song written by Bill Danoff and originally released on John Denver's album "Aerie" in 1972. However, upon further consideration, the significance of this clip becomes clear: it offers an opportunity to explore the intersection of family legacy and artistic influence.

Josh White Jr.'s performance is notable not only because of its rarity but also due to the guitarist's lineage. As the son of Joshua Daniel White – a renowned American singer, guitarist, songwriter, actor, and civil rights activist – Josh White Jr. was undoubtedly influenced by his father's style. The YouTube description explicitly states that his guitar playing is "heavily influenced" by his father, which raises intriguing questions about the transmission of musical traditions within families.

In an era where access to rare recordings has become increasingly democratized, this clip serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of preserving and sharing such treasures with a broader audience.
