Black Edison - Granville T Woods

Born April 23rd, 1856 and nicknamed Black Edison, Granville T Woods was an Inventor who held more than 60 Patients on designs and inventions, he was also the first African American Mechanical and Civil Engineer after the Civil war. Wood's most notable invention was the Induction Telegraph, which allowed people to communicate using voice and morse code over a single wire. Woods also owned patients for The automatic brake Egg incubator The Steam boiler furnace and invented the revolutionary The third rail system that powers underground trains and makes rollercoasters possible.
