About Black Ace

American blues singer and steel guitar player, also known as Buck Turner, born 21 December 1907 in Hughes Springs, Texas, USA, died 7 November 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. He first made two unissued recordings for ARC in 1936, before recording six titles for Decca in 1937. In 1960 he was rediscovered by Chris Strachwitz, who released his recordings on one of the first LPs on his Arhoolie label.
