Ahmed Sirour - "Twice" feat Janine Annice (Live at NBT, Kuala Lumpur)

From my debut in Southeast Asia as a feature artist, doing a 2-night engagement (Oct. 26th-27th) at the internationally-renowned music venue, No Black Tie (think the Malaysian version of NYC's Blue Note) in Kuala Lumpur. This was a great experience and I had great musicians who played for/with me to showcase my work and style to this part of globe, bringing Brooklyn to the world! This was the opening song of my 2nd night (Oct. 27th), which I chose to be a cover, with our take on the beautiful "Twice" by Little Dragon, which I created my this arrangement (which was actually heard here first on Soundcloud and featuring my musical-partner-in-rhyme, Cleveland P. Jones, that Universal Music Australia ended up licensing and featuring on their Uncovered: Vol 3. compilation). For this live version, although we didn't have video for this night, we were still fortunate to get audio and I was privileged to feature the amazing Janine Annice, a very talented British-Jamaican singer from the UK who's currently in KL working on her debut album. This was during the prepared Set 1 where I'd do rehearsed material, then would follow with Set 2, which would be completely improvised/freestyled/unrehearsed, with invited musical guests that are serious talents in SEAsia and the world, in general!
