About This Footage

Brooks Wackerman's solo performance at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on July 31, 2017, is a rare glimpse into the drummer's artistry outside of his work with Avenged Sevenfold and Bad Religion. Captured by an enthusiastic fan who managed to get close enough to film the moment, this 1:35 clip is a testament to Wackerman's skill and dedication to his craft.

At the time of this performance, Wackerman had just joined Avenged Sevenfold in 2015, replacing the band's original drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. The Stage, their sixth studio album, was released just a year prior, marking a new era for the band with Wackerman behind the kit. This solo performance, however, showcases a different side of the drummer, one that is often overlooked in favor of his work with high-profile bands.

What makes this clip significant is its intimacy and spontaneity. Unlike the polished live performances or studio recordings that dominate an artist's public image, this footage captures Wackerman in a raw, unguarded moment. The fan who filmed it was clearly moved by the experience, noting the way Wackerman's playing reminded them of Sullivan, Avenged Sevenfold's original drummer who tragically passed away in 2009.

For fans of Avenged Sevenfold and Bad Religion, this clip is a treasure trove of information. It offers a glimpse into Wackerman's approach to drumming outside of his work with these bands, highlighting his versatility as a musician. Moreover, it serves as a poignant reminder of the impact that Sullivan had on the band and its music. The fan's comment about getting "legit chills" because of the way Wackerman played is telling – it speaks to the enduring legacy of Sullivan's drumming style and the influence he still has on the band.

Watching this clip, a viewer will be struck by Wackerman's technical proficiency and emotional connection to his music. The performance is marked by moments of intensity and precision, showcasing the drummer's ability to convey complex emotions through his playing. It's a testament to the power of live music and the impact that it can have on both the performer and the audience.

This clip also highlights the importance of fans in preserving and sharing memories of live performances. The fan who filmed this moment did so out of a genuine appreciation for Wackerman's artistry, and their enthusiasm is infectious. It serves as a reminder that even the most seemingly mundane moments can hold significance and value, especially when they are captured with passion and dedication.

In conclusion, Brooks Wackerman's solo performance at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on July 31, 2017, is a rare and precious gem that offers a unique perspective on the drummer's artistry. It's a must-watch for fans of Avenged Sevenfold, Bad Religion, and anyone interested in live music and its emotional resonance.
