PVRIS - A Documentary

PVRIS
2010s2015DocumentaryRareLive

This isn’t the original version I intended to release unfortunately. I’ve kept the original but am unable to publish it down to copyright for the song ‘Hallucinations’. PVRIS have always held a special place in my heart. I remember hearing them for the first time in 2015 and desperately spent the next few days just consuming everything PVRIS that I possibly could. The visuals were perfect , the sound was special, it all fit beautifully to make an ensemble to die for. I managed to see PVRIS live in Manchester in 2017 and was genuinely blown away by the unity of the fans and the power Lynn and Brian brought to the stage. The whole scene was powerful and I will always remember that gig till the day I die. This is a fan made documentary and thankfully I’ve been able to use the new track Monster that was released July 30th. I intend no copyright , just enjoyment.

About This Footage

This rare 2015 documentary clip of PVRIS offers an intimate glimpse into the band's early days, providing insight into their creative process and artistic vision. The footage is notable not only for its candid portrayal of the band but also for its historical significance as a snapshot of the artist's formative period.

The clip's duration of 16:57 minutes suggests that it may have been intended as a more substantial piece, possibly even an early draft or rough cut. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues related to the song "Hallucinations," the original version is not available for release. The fact that the uploader has chosen to share this alternate version, albeit imperfect, speaks to their dedication to preserving and sharing PVRIS's history with fans.

The artist's origin in Lowell, Massachusetts, adds another layer of interest to the footage. As a relatively new band at the time, PVRIS was likely still refining its sound and style, making this documentary a valuable resource for understanding the band's evolution.

One aspect that stands out about this clip is the personal connection expressed by the uploader. Their enthusiasm and admiration for PVRIS are palpable, and their account of witnessing the band live in Manchester in 2017 highlights the impact of the artist on their fans. The description also mentions the song "Monster," which was released in July 2015, providing a specific context for when this documentary was created.

The fact that this is a fan-made documentary underscores its grassroots nature and authenticity. Unlike professionally produced content, this clip offers an unfiltered perspective on PVRIS's creative process, untainted by commercial considerations or external pressures. This type of footage provides a unique window into the artist's inner workings, making it a valuable resource for fans and scholars alike.

Furthermore, the mention of Lynn and Brian, likely referring to the band members Lynn Gunn (vocals/guitar) and Brian MacLeod (drums), adds another layer of interest to the clip. Their presence on stage is described as "powerful," suggesting that they brought a high level of energy and dedication to their performances.

In summary, this 2015 documentary clip of PVRIS offers an intriguing glimpse into the band's early days, providing insight into their creative process and artistic vision. The footage's historical significance, combined with its personal and authentic nature, makes it a notable addition to any collection of rare artist footage.
