Auf Wiedersehen Roundhill
Selected scenes from Auf Wiedersehen Pet - Series 2 - 'Marjorie Doesn't Live Here Anymore' (1986) with more Beeston and less Newcastle. Brings back lots of memories of meeting my parents on the twitchell (a term that only exists in Nottingham it would seem), kicking a ball against the wall behind the bogs and the weird YTS hut. Apparently. Central TV often used parts of Beeston and Nottingham, presumably to save the cost of transporting the entire crew up to Newcastle. In this episode, Roundhill is used for location of Walker Street School. I'm pretty sure there's some more shots of Roundhill in which a double stands in for actor Gary Holton, who died during the filming of the 2nd series, walks away from the camera down the twitchell past the dining hall.
