Steve Taylor - An Introduction (Video re: signing with Myrrh Records)
In the Summer of 1987, with Sparrow Records in financial distress, and production of Steve Taylor's "I Predict 1990" record going over time and budget, Steve was allowed to reach a deal with Myrrh/A&M Records for the release of the upcoming album. This video, which was shot at the same time as the "I Predictionary" Promotional Video, and was played at the Word Records (Word was the parent company of Myrrh) Yearly Sales Conference. It features some interesting Nuggets of Joy: 1) The unintentional revelation that the Clone Club "mascot" logo was, in fact, a self-portrait drawn by Lynn Nichols, who not only helped broker the deal between Steve and Myrrh/A&M, but was later in Chagall Guevara. 2) The taco place Steve drives through is Naugles, which was the precursor to the (mostly) Western US taco chain, Del Taco.
