Following the massive success of the Dr. Feelgood album, Motley Crue released a hits package called Decade of Decadence in October of 1991. The album featured some new mixes of old hits but most importantly, it featured a few newly recorded tracks. One of the new tracks was called Primal Scream and went on to be a big hit in it's own right. I never got around to picking up the Decade of Decadence album on vinyl but I did find a unique 12" single for the song Primal Scream. In this video, I'll share a look at the single as well as some of the extras included with it. About This Footage

This 6:20-minute clip is a treasure trove for vinyl enthusiasts and collectors, offering an intimate look at a rare 12" single from Primal Scream's discography. Released in 1991, the same year as Motley Crue's Decade of Decadence album, this footage provides a unique glimpse into the world of rock music during that era.

The clip's focus on a specific vinyl record is noteworthy, especially considering its rarity and the fact that it features a bonus patch. The inclusion of this extra material adds an element of exclusivity to the item, making it even more appealing to collectors. The video's creator has done an excellent job in showcasing the single, providing a detailed examination of the record's contents and highlighting its value within the context of Primal Scream's discography.

Primal Scream's history is marked by their unique blend of rock and psychedelic sounds, which sets them apart from other bands. Formed in 1982 in Glasgow, Scotland, the band has undergone several lineup changes over the years but has maintained a consistent sound that blends elements of post-punk and indie rock. The fact that they were able to collaborate with Motley Crue on a track for Decade of Decadence is a testament to their ability to transcend genres and appeal to a wider audience.

The footage itself is not only visually interesting, but it also provides context about the band's history and discography. The mention of Dr. Feelgood, one of Motley Crue's most iconic albums, serves as a reminder of the impact that this album had on rock music in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The clip's creator has also taken the time to share their own experiences with vinyl collecting, highlighting the importance of community and shared passion among enthusiasts. The mention of the Infectious Groove Podcast and Facebook group serves as a reminder that there is a thriving community of collectors who are dedicated to preserving and celebrating the art of vinyl.

In terms of historical significance, this footage provides a snapshot of rock music during a pivotal moment in time. The early 1990s were marked by a shift towards grunge and alternative sounds, but bands like Primal Scream continued to push the boundaries of what was possible within the genre. This clip serves as a reminder that even within these larger trends, there is always room for experimentation and innovation.

Overall, this footage is notable not only because it showcases a rare vinyl record but also because it provides context about Primal Scream's history and discography.
