CORRECTION: I originally uploaded this as a Herbie Bootleg, since that's what the file was uploaded as. (Original description below). However there's some evidence that this may NOT herbie at all, and is in fact a completely different group. The suggested relevant info is as follows: "Graham Collier Group Pinède, Antibes March 21, 1969 (2 items; TT = 24:54) Pinède, Antibes Source/Quality: RB (B+) Harry Beckett (tpt); Nick Evans (tb); Stan Sulzmann (ss, ts); Stanley Cowell (p); Graham Collier (b); John Marshall (d) 1 Unknown Title 12:16 2 Aberdeen Angus (G. Collier) 12:38 According to Stan Sulzmann, Karl Jenkins, Collier's regular keyboard player, had to miss this gig because of the death of his father, and Stanley Cowell was enlisted to play in his place. Thanks to Terry Sullivan for help with this session." ORIGINAL FILE NOTES: "Herbie Hancock La Pinede Juan-Les-Pins Antibes, France July 24th, 1969 Herbie Hancock: Piano Trumpet? Trombone? Sax? Bass? Drums? NOTE from the original uploader: "I think this short recording is rare (I have never seen it on lists or torrented here in the last 4 years). Of course, I may be off & jazzrita will show up with complete info, tell us about an existing more complete version and hate on me for pointlessly reseeding. Honestly, I try to share fresh material but fastidious archivers like him are hard to stump. Regarding the music here, it's pre- Mwandishi and pretty straight ahead with not much of a hint of the African and funk influence to come in a couple years. This could be Woody Shaw and others supporting him. I find the first tune okay but the second one fantastic. Classic later Blue Note era Herbie flavor!" ***IMPORTANT*** If you are a copyright holder that would like something removed from my channel please message me on YouTube or email me directly, & I usually respond within minutes.
