Robbie Vincent Show 17/10/1981 - Rod Temperton Interview (in HD?)

The Robbie Vincent Show – Radio London – 17th October 1981 – full Rod Temperton Interview. I was looking through my old audio cassette tapes recently and discovered this! It’s a Memorex C120 Oxide tape (pic at beginning) including the full 1 hour Robbie Vincent interview with the late Rod Temperton, on Radio London, on 17th October 1981. It’s not great quality but seeing as it’s nearly 40 years old, from not great radio reception and on the thinnest tape you could get (so you could record up to 2 hours) it’s amazing it plays/you can hear it at all! It’s an interesting interview which mentions a future album project with Michael Jackson starting the following February: the follow up to Off The Wall i.e. Thriller! Little did he know how successful that would turn out to be! Throughout the interview mention is made of a car bomb that had just gone off in London. Turned out it was an IRA bomb targeting Lieutenant-General Sir Steuart Pringle, who survived but was badly injured. They were sad times. There is the full news bulletin at 1pm and nearly another hour of Robbie’s show – until the tape ran out! No adverts though as Radio London was part of the BBC. Enjoy!
