PM: Gov't Doing Its Best To Source COVID-19 Vaccines

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has defended the Government's role in acquiring vaccines. He says buying the medication has been a nightmare. Dr. Rowley complains that getting the scarce supplies has only served to endorse the view of international organisations such as PAHO and other country leaders. They have been complaining that vaccine inequity will lengthen the pandemic. He says that T&T's discussions with the various vaccine producers were to no avail. He reminds that even private businesses tried to get the rare commodity and failed. Dr. Rowley said even the role of Chair of CARICOM meant that he had to advocate for the group and not exclusively for T&T. The issue, he says, is vaccine scarcity the world over.
