TT Banking Sector Is Strong

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley describes the banking sector as one of the strongest in the country, even amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. He said banks are owned by the people, adding that citizens may not know just how much they own.... Meanwhile, Finance Minister Colm Imbert said the International Monetary Fund, the IMF, conducted an independent analysis of the banking sector twice in 2019, and once at the beginning of 2020. He said the IMF, in its report, has also given advice on the banks' relationship with the State, and on credit unions.
