Upload #1486 ~ HQ from UK 45 pictured ~~ Appealing Hillbilly Country Midtempo Dancer with Great Backing that takes it beyond a Million other 1950s Country 45s. Lonnie Coleman & Jesse Robertson recorded this in 1956 for the USA Fabor label if the sides were apparently swapped to the UK, if this side way better. LC only did this one in 1956, nothing until 1968-70s if there may be others. JR seems to have just done this one. Seems quite a few Girl were named "Dolores Diane" at the time. B side is "Oh Honey Why Don'tcha" a nice more Uptempo Hillbilly tune. ** Dolores is usually called... Dolly. Old Time Country Music styling from the 1940s Bill Monroe era as a BBC4 Documentary shows. Nice Sounds if not a Style too familiar to UK listeners as not much issued here. 1940s-1950s Country is a Hard Genre to like, too many dreary Ballads. Take Hank Williams, uptempo like 'Move It On Over' is great but all those miserable tunes as the BBC4 docu showed is far too much & too samey. One Off Goodies like this 45 are a delight to find amid other styles. Hillbilly becomes Country to us by 1958-60 not many good ones then & after 1960 is becomes very commercial, that tinkling Country piano isn't a cool sound. Today some mostly Very Rare UK London 45s.
