Released in 2012. HIDDEN CHARMS records from the Netherlands present: EVERY DAY IN THE WEEK Vol. 1 A killer 180 gram vinyl compilation LP with superb Country Blues, Jug Bands, Hokum groups, Barrelhouse piano Blues, raw gut-bucket Jazz and Medicine Show Songsters. A very pleasing mix of pre-war African-American musical styles recorded between 1927 and 1933. All tracks are re-mastered directly from the original rare 78 rpm discs for this LP only and are in many cases the best sounding versions of the tracks available anywhere (all 78 are from the Hidden Charms collection). The record comes with a wonderful 12 page -A4- booklet with great liner notes and original research by Alex Van Der Tuuk. Van Der Tuuk is the internationally acclaimed Paramount records expert (Paramount's Rise And Fall -- Mainspring Press) and pre-war blues researcher (for amongst many other publications Blues & Rhythm, 78 Quarterly and Frog's Blues and Jazz Annual). And he's one of the group of researchers who recently discovered Blind Blake's death certificate) The booklet among many others includes new research on the mysterious and legendary singer Mozelle Alderson a.k.a Jane Lucas a.k.a Hannah May a.k.a.
