MULTI-million selling singer Lisa Stansfield is kicking off her latest UK tour in Birmingham with a show at the Symphony Hall. The iconic R&B singer sold more than 15 million albums after breaking through with the hit All Around The World which was taken from the 1989 album Affection. The Base Sessions team caught up with Lisa Stansfield at the recent Nordoff Robins music charity Silver Clef awards for a chat about how music therapy can help change the lives of people suffering with a range of illnesses and conditions. Lisa is set for a busy end to 2014, following her British tour, which starts on Friday September 5 at the Symphony Hall, she is heading to Europe for more live dates to promote her latest album – Seven. Seven marks a return to the story-telling style Lisa Stansfield’s lyrics are best known for, she said: “I think we all suffer the same pain, all feel the same happiness, and we all have the same emotions within us.” Log on to our website and click on The Base Sessions to see our video exclusive featuring Lisa Stansfield. The Base Sessions is recorded and produced by Base Studios in Stourbridge. www.thebasesessions.com Comment,Like,Subscribe

About Lisa Stansfield

Lisa Jane Stansfield is an English singer, songwriter, and actress. Her career began in 1980 when she won the singing competition Search for a Star. After appearances in various television shows and releasing her first singles, Stansfield, along with Ian Devaney and Andy Morris, formed Blue Zone in 1983. The band released several singles and one album, but after the success of Coldcut's "People Hold On" in 1989, on which Stansfield was featured, the focus was placed on her solo career.
