(Lincoln Center, New York) Composer and jazz piano great McCoy Tyner remembers John Coltrane after being named Honorary Board member to the Friends of the John and Alice Coltrane Home. The National Trust for Historic Preservation and Friends of the John and Alice Coltrane Home announced their partnership to preserve the Long Island style where John composed “A Love Supreme” and where Alice smashed the jazz glass ceiling to record some of her five albums. R.E.M. was an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1980 by drummer Bill Berry, guitarist Peter Buck, bassist Mike Mills, and lead vocalist Michael Stipe, who were students at the University of Georgia.
