Good rockin' shuffle with L.C.'s raw guitar playing vs. Sammy Lawhorn's refined playing - and Pinetop Perkins on piano. Recorded in 1971 with the Muddy Waters Bluesband. Issued on LP in 1972 ("Ups and Downs", Arhoolie) and reissued on CD in 1996 ("Mojo in my hand", Arhoolie).
About Sammy Lawhorn
Sammy David Lawhorn was an American Chicago blues guitarist, best known as a member of Muddy Waters's band. He also accompanied many other blues musicians, including Otis Spann, Willie Cobbs, Eddie Boyd, Roy Brown, Big Mama Thornton, John Lee Hooker, James Cotton and Junior Wells.
