Issued by Aaarrg Records and produced by Ralph Hubert, the album emerged during the formative years of the European thrash metal movement and helped establish the band as an important act within the German underground metal scene. The record features the powerful and aggressive vocal performance of Sabina Classen, who became one of the most recognizable female voices in extreme metal. Her harsh delivery, combined with Andy Classen’s fast and razor-sharp riffing, created a raw and energetic sound influenced by early thrash metal, speed metal, and the aggressive spirit of the 1980s underground scene. Songs such as “Necropolis,” “Don't Mess Around with the B***h,” and the title track “Queen of Siam” demonstrate the band’s early songwriting approach, combining high-speed riffs with dark lyrical themes and a raw production style typical of the era. The track “Roadcrew” also features Andy Classen performing lead vocals, adding variety to the album’s vocal presentation. Although Holy Moses would refine and intensify their sound on later albums such as Finished with the Dogs, this debut remains an important document of the band’s early development. Queen of Siam is widely regarded as a cult classic of early German thrash metal and an influential release within the European metal underground of the mid-1980s.
