Once Again It’s Christmas
A special Christmas song was written in 1968 by Don Russell Sr. (Don’s dad) He sat down at the piano one Christmas and this beautiful melody was the result. Kenny Rogers, who Don knew through their jazz band together, The Bobby Doyle Trio in the 60s, recorded this song in 2016 on his final Christmas album. Don was able to hear this before he passed away in 2017. My husband and I wanted to record our version as our tribute and started the process last Christmas, but we just weren’t able to get it finished in time, so we picked it up again this year and pulled in Dan Gelok on sax and Azim Kahn on violin to pull this arrangement together. It came together like Christmas magic! Please feel free to share this beautiful song. It deserves to be heard.
