A segment from the long running Australian music TV series Countdown, which aired on the ABC from 1974-1987. This particular segment aired during the Countdown episode which originally aired on May 17, 1987, on the ABC. This clip features the guest hosts of that episode, Australian comedy team The D-Generation, featuring members Michael Veitch, Rob Sitch, Santo Cilauro, Magda Szubanski, Marg Downey, and John Harrison. This clip features The D-Generation introducing the episode, before leading into Australian band The Black Sorrows' single 'Daughters Of Glory'. Vaxfacts: The famous D-Generation comedy team started off as a TV sketch comedy show on the ABC in 1986, created by Melbourne University students Michael Veitch, Rob Sitch, Santo Cilauro, Magda Szubanski, Marg Downey, Tom Gleisner and John Harrison. The show ran for 2 seasons on the ABC from 1986-1987, with specials on Channel 7 in 1988. They would also host their own radio show on Melbourne radio station EON-FM (now Triple M Melbourne) from 1986-1992. They would follow this up with their hugely successful 'The Late Show', aired on the ABC from 1992-1993. Other cast members would go on to sketch show 'Fast Forward'. They also released two parody Top 10 singles- 'Five In A Row' (1989) and 'Five More In A Row' (1990).
