This grainy, dark clip comes from the film "Fillmore" (1972), a documentary about the famed rock palace and its charismatic boss, Bill Graham. Graham loved Michael, and here he affectionately tells a story about Mike's mom, Dorothy, coming to see her son perform. Bloomfield chides Bill about his recent appearance on D**k Cavett, but Bill has the last laugh -- "The greatest story of my life in rock'n'roll!" It was July 4, 1971, and within the hour Bloomfield would be on stage jamming with Carlos Santana, closing the Fillmore West for good.

Born on July 28, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Died on February 15, 1981 in San Francisco, California, by drug overdose. Already at a young age Bloomfield knew and played with many of Chicago's blues legends, even before he achieved his own fame, He was one of the primary influences on the mid-to-late 1960s revival of classic Chicago and other styles of blues music.
