On entering the Pavilion the previous day i asked security if there were any restrictions on filming the bands and he said an emphatic no there were no restrictions which was fantastic.I got some great footage of all the bands Friday and then Saturday ....until New Model Army came on...I recorded a couple songs and then the same security guy came up to me and closed my camcorder up so i thought that was that.. I guess a member of the band's backstage guys must have seen me and told the security to stop me videoing...Fortunately the camcorder was still recording so here's the audio of the rest of their set along with a few of my photos as well...Enjoy.. New Model Army - Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival - Whitby - 29/04/23.. #Newmodelarmy #Bradford #whitbygothweekend #whitby New Model Army played their first gig in Bradford on October 23rd 1980. Its founding members were Justin Sullivan, Stuart Morrow and Phil Tompkins. The threesome had already been together for a couple of years in a number of Bradford bands with other musicians and singers but in the Autumn of 1980, they decided to form a stripped-down three-piece, their music drawing on a wide collection of influences and fuelled by their passions for Punk Rock and Northern Soul. Within a few months drummer Phil Tomkins had left to be replaced by Rob Waddington. The band slowly built up a local following and created a unique style based on Justin's song-writing and Stuart's virtuosity on lead-bass.

About The Band

The Band were a Canadian-American rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario. It consisted of Canadians Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson and American Levon Helm. The Band's music combined elements of Americana, folk, rock, R&B, jazz and country, which influenced artists including George Harrison, Elton John, the Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton and Wilco.
