B.O.F - Funky Groove
from 1984 Best Of Friends Band is an explosive Force from Chicago. With the foundation of the band coming from CVS High (Chicago Career Academy) the band rocked in the 80s becoming one of the top bands in the city. The stakes came alive when the band won the Midwest Talent contest beating out 184 bands. The Chicago Sun-times & Tribune named the group the #1 band two years in a row. Frequent appearances on the Miller sound express got the band the attention of Chicago. B.O.F. became a favorite of the late mayor Harold Washington. They soon joined his campaign trial. Managed by Joe Dupar and Marshall Thompson (The Chi-Lites). The Band recorded on their own label and produced & released "Funky Groove", "You Entered My Life" and "I've Got Your Number". The band is still active and annually reunites for a Bar-B Que Jam session.
