Brian Vollmer, legendary lead vocalist of the Canadian hard rock band Helix, is interviewed by Jason Saulnier on November 10, 2009. In this interview, Brian discusses the promotion of Helix's then-new album Vagabond Bones, the band's return to the studio, and the reunion of the classic 1980s lineup. He also shares the story behind the famous Vinnie Vincent (KISS) photograph featured in his autobiography, Gimme an R!, along with memories from Helix's remarkable career in Canadian rock. About Helix Formed in 1974, Helix is one of Canada's most enduring hard rock and heavy metal bands. The group rose to international success during the 1980s with hit songs including "Rock You," "Deep Cuts the Knife," "Heavy Metal Love," and "Wild in the Streets." While the band's lineup has changed many times over the years, Brian Vollmer has remained its driving force and sole constant member since its formation. The classic 1980s lineup featured guitarists Brent "The Doctor" Doerner and Paul Hackman, bassist Daryl Gray, and drummer Greg "Fritz" Hinz. Following the tragic death of Paul Hackman in a tour bus accident in 1992, the surviving members reunited in 2009 to record Vagabond Bones, celebrating the band's enduring legacy. More than five decades after their formation, Helix continues to perform and remains one of the most recognizable names in Canadian hard rock. #BrianVollmer #Helix #CanadianRock
