How "Hobo Humpin Slobo Babe" Became Whale's Worst Label Disaster

The story of Whale and their viral 1990s hit "Hobo Humpin Slobo Babe" is one of the most absurd true stories in alternative rock history. In this documentary, we explore the rise and collapse of the Swedish alt-rock trio formed by Henrik Schyffert, Gordon Cyrus, and Cia Berg. From their early days making radio jingles in Stockholm to signing with Virgin Records after a major label contract disaster with EastWest, we cover every detail behind the scenes. Discover how a low-budget MTV video featuring dental headgear launched them onto Beavis and Butt-Head, their controversial fake biography prank that pissed off the music press, their studio work with trip-hop producer Tricky on the album We Care, and the tour fights with Blur that led to their final breakup.
