The Flatlanders-Flatland Radio Demo Cassette Eugene, Oregon 1987

Band: Christopher Cook - Guitar/Vocals Ed Hutton - Bass/Vocals Tim Arnold - Drums (No, not the Flatlanders with Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, here's a local Oregon band by that name...) The Flatlanders were a band my friend Ed Hutton was in, who I'd known for some time and I really liked his band and this tape. Got them an opening slot for a packed WOW Hall in 1987 for Island act the 77's (a show I helped put on) and they were in all the posters and press I could work them in. They seemed to get a good reaction even though most there were actually aware of the 7's through KZEL's constant promotion of the album. I lost touch with Ed years ago and then found out fairly recently that he had passed on, which was really sad. In going through the last of my cassette collection I found this again. Did some audio work to bring it up to standards for 2023. It was well-recorded but then again, it was done at Gung Ho with Billy and he's always done good work. I wish the group had done more. Flatland Radio I certainly don't own any rights to this, but wanted to share it for those interested in past local music history, or knew the guys in the band.
