Longing for Mother - Vagy Anya - Hungarian
Vagy Anya (Longing for Mother) is a folk tune from Hungary. For all mothers and for the memory of departed mothers on Mother's Day. Lorna Pollock, accordion. I first heard this tune in the 1980s, performed by Marta Sebestyen in the band Muzsikas. It's a wonderful tune. I thought of using the acoustic bass sound to replicate the driving beat in traditional music, but I decided to stay with the full accordion sound. Roland setting: #15 Diatonic Folk, musette, master and clarino. (c) 2011 Lorna Pollock
