As part of the Wellington (New Zealand) annual Jazz Festival local venue Rogue & Vagabond always present a series of gigs known as 'Rogue Classic Albums'. What these are a variety of classic (mostly American)jazz and/or jazz crossover/fusion albums that can be anywhere from the 1940s through to the 2000s. Local Wellington musicians will get together and perform a classic album of their choice from start to finish in chronological order of the exact order of of the tracks as they were listed on the original album from start of Side 1 to the finish of the last track on side 2 (if it was originally a vinyl release). Nothing esle just that. In this case Keyboardist Daniel Hayles lead a band to cover one of the original first jazz-rock fusion classics from Legendary Drummer Billy Cobham called 'Spectrum' released originally in 1973! This was on Thursday 10th June 2021 at the Rogue & Vagabond in Garrett Street , Wellington city. Gig started at 9.30pm . Cover charge was $10. This is one of the more well known tracks from the album called 'Red Baron' and is also the last track of the album and the gig. What was different live this night was that a vocalist Eugene Wolfin was asked up on stage during the normal instrumental only track to sing which he did brilliantly with some scat singing to the tune. https://www.jazzfestival.nz/events/rogue-classic-albums-live-spectrum/ Daniel Hayles - Keyboards Eugene Wolfin -Vocal/Scat singing Tyson Smith - Guitar Rory Macartney - Bass Jacob Randall - Drums
