Formerly lead alto and conductor for the Navy Commodores, he played with such big bands as the Blues Alley Big Band, Bill Potts Big Band Guy Lombardo, and others. He has performed with the National Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, and Richmond Symphony and has backed up such performers as Dizzy Gillespie, Eddie Daniels, Stanley Turrentine, Joe Williams, Rosemary Clooney, Ethel Ennis, Nancy Wilson, Maureen McGovern, Snooky Young, and many others. He leads the Marty Nau Quartet which has recorded three CDs including the very well received "Strings Attached." He on the faculty of the Washington Conservatory. Steve Novosel, bass performed with, recorded with and/or toured with a veritable Who's Who of Jazz, including Cedar Walton, Milt Jackson, Bobby Hackett, Al Grey, Pharoah Sanders, Eddie Vinson, the Teddy Wilson Trio, the Red Norvo Trio, Stanley Cowell, Larry Willis, Jimmy Heath, Charlie Byrd, Elvin Jones, James Moody, Jimmy Cobb, Slide Hampton, Norman Simmons, John Hicks, Steve Turre, Gary Bartz, Tal Farlow, Blue Mitchell, Jack Walrath, Buck Hill, Archie Shepp, Harry Sweets Edison, Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Jake Hanna, and vocalists Billy Eckstine, Betty Carter, Mavis Rivers, Shirley Horn, and Anita O'Day. Novosel participated in 20 recording projects with avant-garde saxophonist and John Coltrane musicologist Andrew White. He is on the faculty of the Washington Conservatory. Wade Beach, piano, is widely respected for his harmonic sophistication, superb command of the piano, and a broad stylistic palette. Wade Beach entered the world of jazz as a protégé of Sir Roland Hanna and toured the globe many times over performing with the U.S. Airforce Airmen of Note. He has been a key pillar of the Washington jazz scene for decades and keeps both an active teaching and performing schedule, performing with groups around the DC area, including The Jazz Update Band. He is on the faculty of George Mason University and the Maryland Summer Jazz Festiva and holds a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Maryland.

For sixty-two years, Turre has been active in jazz, rock, and Latin jazz – in live venues, recording studios, television, and cinema production.
