Love Music Hate Racism Trailer 4 ft. Basil Gabbidon

Racism seeks only to divide and weaken us. From the 70's Rock Against Racism event that pushed back the tide of rising racism comes Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) which was set up in 2002 again in response to rising levels of racism and electoral successes of the Nazi British National Party (BNP). Artists who have performed at our events include Ms Dynamite, Kasabian, Hard -Fi, Babyshambles, Akala, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Estelle, The View, Lethal Bizzle, Kano, Roll Deep and Basement Jaxx. With the increase in islamophobia, anti-migrant racism and hostility towards refugees in Britain and across Europe it is time to reignite our national movement against racism and fascism through music. On Friday 24th February Birmingham Stand Up To Racism will host a Love Music Hate Racism concert at The Crossing, Floodgate Street, South Birmingham College, Digbeth, B5 5SU. 7pm - 1am. Bands will include artists from the original Rock Against Racism event 40 years on such as Gabbidon Band (Steel Pulse) and Beat Goes Bang (The Beat) as well as an array top Birmingham artists like Hip Hop artist and actress Justice Hotep (from the film One Day), Award winning powerhouse spoken word poet Amerah Saleh, female Hip Hop artist Zara Zykes, Afro Soul and R&B artist Namiwa Jazz, Hip Hop and Indie R&B artist Elektric and Hip Hop artist and shortlisted Poet Laureate Kurly McGeachie.
