Nichols Band KoKo Lounging 1959
Al Sutton, Rollie Culver, Pete Bielman, Bill Wood, and Red Nichols relax in Phoenix and sight see in late April before their gig at the KoKo Lounge. Behind the scenes is Joe Rushton. Red obviously doesn't like to be caught off guard, but has little to say about it when "Blizz" is behind the camera.
About Red Nichols
Ernest Loring "Red" Nichols was an American jazz cornetist, composer, and jazz bandleader. He was one of the most prolific and influential jazz musicians in the late 1920s and early 1930s, appearing on over 4,000 recordings. In 1959, a biopic was made of his life and career, The Five Pennies, starring Danny Kaye.
