Nick Cave Guitars: Blixa Bargeld, Hugo Race, Kid Congo Powers

Here it is! Chapter TWO!! Chapter One took us from Nick's Highschool days through to Rowland S Howard's departure as the Birthday Party morphed into the Bad Seeds. ************************************************************************* For as long as I can remember Nick Cave has been present in the musical universe. Not just present but relevant. I recall feeling slightly unnerved as a 13 year old, unable to look away during his disturbing portrayal of Nick the Stripper on John Torv’s Music Video in 1983, to being completely swept up by the dark, dingy, and distinctly un-glamourous visuals for The Mercy Seat in 1988; his tremendous pop-crossover with Kylie Minogue in 1995, and his new millennium rock resurgence with Dig, Lazarus Dig and the Grinderman albums; to the guaranteed love from the crowd every time I cover Into My Arms, and now it seems half of TikTok is regurgitating Red Hand Files moments! But every great Rock Frontman must have their guitar-slinging foil. So who played Scotty Moore to Nick’s Elvis? Who was Mick Ronson to Nick’s Bowie? If you think it begins and ends with @mickharvey741 , Rowland S Howard, and @blixabargeld6851 , then you’re in for a ride. I’ve turned up around 50 names of guitarists who have played alongside Nicholas Edward Cave. Did you know he was once accompanied by Mike Campbell of the Heartbreakers, for instance? Or Mick Jones of the Clash? Johnny Depp? Robert Fripp? Guthrie Govan! Am I just making these names up?? Let's find out. We’ve got a lot to get through. Let’s hook in.
